Like the woman who wrote to you about her pregnant 17-year-old daughter, I was also in the situation of having a baby while studying (Dear Coleen, May 29).

My baby was born in the second year of my college course and I carried on with my studies, finding a job straight after. I worked for four years and also have another beautiful baby. I’m now in my late 20s and I’m going to uni this year, just after my baby turns one.

Having children doesn’t ruin your life. I hope this girl’s mum gives her support – my parents have and I’m now achieving everything I wanted to. Devon Rossiter, via email
