Were Katherine Jenkins’ toes the real reason why TV host Gethin gave her the boot?
IT looks like the reasons behind Katherine Jenkins’ shock split with Gethin Jones have finally been nailed…
The length of the stunning singer’s toes may be behind the break-up in 2011. Yes, you read that right.
Gethin’s sister Mererid sparked the rumour when she phoned his radio show and was asked by co-host Dave Vitty if she thought her brother had aimed too high dating Katherine, 37, because he had an “image of perfection in his head that he can never really achieve”.
She replied: “I think so, yes. They have to tick every single box.
“Then if there’s one tiny thing wrong like the middle toe’s longer than their big toe he goes off on one.”
Gethin, 40, squirmed on the Hits Radio show: “I am starting to feel really uncomfortable with this conversation.”
While there is obviously no proof that Katherine’s toes are the sole reason for their split, it does appear the middle one is bigger than the big one in the many pictures of her feet.
She has told in the past how the break-up upset her and it was Gethin who called it off.
She said she would go on stage trying to “understand his reason for doing it”. Katherine added: “Everybody else is under the impression it was my decision, my ambition… I wanted to take over the world. It was so far from the truth.” The pair met in 2007 when Gethin was a Blue Peter presenter and she was on the show.
Katherine has since married Andrew Levitas and the pair have two children, Xander, two months, and Aaliyah, two.
Gethin has struggled to find anyone to settle with, despite being linked to a string of women. He split from German model Katja Zwara, 28, this year.
He told how he tried going to yoga to meet women but said it was “hard to chat while balancing upside down”.
