Ghoddos: I’m still a believer

IRAN have just the right man to spearhead their World Cup campaign in Saman Ghoddos.

They have won just one World Cup game in their history and will be huge group underdogs. But that won’t faze striker Ghoddos who starred for Swedish minnows Ostersund during their run to the Europa League last 32. Ghoddos (above) said: “When Ostersund played in the Europa League every game people expected us to lose but instead we were thinking ‘we can make it,’ believing in ourselves.

“It’s the same thing with Iran. We have to believe in ourselves it’s possible to win all the games.”
