brushed off the rust to win his first match for three months as Rafa Nadal pulled out of next week’s tournament at Queen’s.

The Swiss star, who skipped the whole clay season, is starting his grass-court campaign at the Mercedes Cup in Stuttgart. And after losing the first set to Mischa Zverev, the world No.2 (above) found his rhythm to win 3-6 6-4 6-2.

The 36-year-old, who can reclaim the No.1 spot by reaching the final, said: “I’m super happy to be back – three months out is a long time.”

World No.1 Nadal, who has played 27 matches on clay in the last two months, will not play a grass-court warm-up event before Wimbledon. The French Open champion said: “Queen’s is a great event but I need to listen to what my body is telling me.”

Andy Murray is expected to announce in the next 24 hours if he will make his comeback at Queen’s.

Amazon Prime will stream live coverage of a UK sports event for the first time at Queen’s in London.

The US tech giant has agreed a five-year deal to show ATP men’s tennis starting fully in January 2019.
