Many still without permanent home
LESS than half the Grenfell Tower survivors have a permanent home.
Prime Minister Theresa May insisted 183 households have now accepted an offer of a full-time place to live.
But only 83 households out of the
203 that were displaced are already in these homes.
In total 198 have either accepted an offer of a permanent address but are in the process of moving in or they have agreed to offers of temporary
accommodation. Five households have not yet found anywhere suitable.
From the walkways, the area adjoining the tower, 129 households moved out, of which less than a third
have returned. A Kensington and Chelsea council spokesman said: “We have staff doing everything they can to rehouse families as quickly as possible.
“We’ve committed £235million to secure 307 homes.”
