Terror accused is a ‘practical joker but not troublemaker’
AN UBER driver accused of attacking police with a samurai sword outside Buckingham Palace is “just a practical joker”, his sister told a court.
Mohiussunnath Chowdhury, 27, allegedly drove at a police van before a scuffle with officers.
Sister Sneha Chowdhury, 24, told jurors: “He is very timid and shy. He’s WITNESS Sneha Chowdhury childish. He is not a troublemaker, just a practical joker.” She said she phoned him on the evening of the alleged attack: “He said, ‘Keep up your prayer, be good’. It’s not stuff he normally says.” The Old Bailey heard that she found her screensaver had been changed to an ISIS flag plus the note: “The Queen and her soldiers will all be in hellfire.” Chowdhury, of Luton, Beds, denies preparing an act of terror. The trial continues.
