Prince Louis christening avoids footie

- BY RUSSELL MYERS

PRINCE Louis is to be baptised on Monday July 9.

Kensington Palace yesterday said the service for Prince William and Catherine’s third child will be held in the Chapel Royal at St James’s Palace.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are expected to announce the eightweek-old’s godparents the morning of the christening.

It is thought they will choose five close friends.

Archbishop of Canterbury Justin Welby will perform the private service, of around half an hour.

Sources believe the date was picked in part to avoid the July 10 and 11 World Cup semi-finals – England would play on the 11th.

Louis, born on April 23, will wear the same frilly cream gown as his siblings George and Charlotte.
