E-PACE GETS SMART

Jaguar’s E-PACE SUV is now available with what the company calls Smart Settings. It uses artificial intelligence algorithms to learn your habits and taste, predicting seat, climate and music preferences.

The system will also tell the driver if they’ve forgotten their phone and will learn patterns of phone use and cue up popular contacts at the appropriate time. All very impressive but I just wonder how many of us actually want this level of complexity?

In the E-PACE’s case it would be better for it to be more comfortable over bumpy roads than for it to be able to tell me that I might want to ring my mum this afternoon.
