LEEDS hope to see off late interest from Cardiff and Serie A side Cagliari to snap up Abel Hernandez on a free.

The Uruguay striker (above), 27, is a free agent after leaving Hull, where he rejected fresh terms.

Hernandez has been a target for Leeds for several weeks and new coach Marcelo Bielsa is ready to sanction his signing.
