Mysterious human parasite was not Nigel Farage after all

- IANHYLAND

Iknew I was struggling with BBC1’s latest quiz when the contestants were asked to identify the location of “the T4 dermatome.”

My first guess was Heathrow Airport.

It wasn’t the first question to have thrown me. Earlier, when the contestants were told to “look at this picture and identify the human parasite” I was expecting a headshot of Nigel Farage.

However, this was Britain’s Best Junior Doctor. So all the questions were of a medical nature. By the way, the T4 dermatome is between your nipples, while said human parasite was the fluke worm – which, to be fair, could be Farage’s nickname.

This is a special week-long quiz to celebrate the 70th birthday of the NHS – and given how busy junior doctors are these days I’m not expecting it to return for a longer run.

It’s good fun though. And it’s highly educational. It’s also further proof that Jo Brand is a natural when it comes to hosting panel shows.

As for the contestants, they certainly made you feel that the medical side of the NHS is in good hands – although when 26-year-old Becky said she had “an interest in infectious diseases” I did wonder whether she might be better off going on one of those racy dating shows.

My only criticism was the blatant objectification of some twin male models who, Jo was quick to explain, were in their underwear “to make it more fun.”

For balance we must assume tonight’s edition will feature the Cheeky Girls in their underwear.

Or, as it’s sometimes known, their daywear.
