School skirts ban panned
PARENTS have slammed a mixed school as “crackers” for banning skirts on girls.
A policy of all pupils wearing trousers will be phased in from September.
Diane Burdaky, whose daughter Annabelle is in Year 8 at Philips High School in Whitefield, Gtr Manchester, said: “I can’t think of any reason why girls shouldn’t wear them.”
It is not clear why Philips is introducing the ban.
But at least 40 secondaries have adopted genderneutral uniforms to cater for transgender pupils.
