Should more stores go cashless?

Tesco has opened its first cashless store in Welwyn Garden City, Herts, in an effort to cut queueing times, following similar pilot schemes by Waitrose and the Co-op. YES 28% NO 72%

No. Large supermarke­ts really should not be allowed to shut out those who don’t have access to cards. Tesco’s move is a bad thing for poor people. ERMINESTRE­ET

Yes. I’d also like to see stores where you scan and pack your food as you walk around and then just pay as you leave. But they should leave one checkout as cash only for the elderly. GROVESYB

Yes. People like me find what we want in a few minutes and then spend 10 minutes trying to get out of the shop! AUSSIE1

No. Cutting queueing time to 45 seconds? What a joke! It takes ages with those machines because most of the time they don’t even work! ZMETHA

Yes. Most people don’t have time to wait in long queues and want to be in and out as quick as possible. LUCY METCALFE
