Agents suffering

One in four estate agents is struggling to survive, research claims.

The go-slow property market and competition from online rivals is hitting high street agents hard, says accountants Moore Stephens.

It claims that more than 7,000 estate agency firms across the country are showing signs of financial distress.

The warning came as online estate agent Purplebricks announced it was buying a similar business in Canada for nearly £30million.
