Busy women risk diabetes
WOMEN who work more than 45 hours a week are at a much greater risk of diabetes, says a new study.
It found such women were 63% more likely to develop the disease than those doing 35 to 40 hours.
But overworked men had no such raised risk.
Dr Mahee GilbertOuimet, of Canada’s Institute for Work and Health, said overwork might boost stress and insulin resistance – and women doing more housework might explain the gender gap.
