I think the mature thing to do would be to give her the space she wants. She’s obviously shocked and hurt by what you did. Let her know you’re sorry and you’re there if she wants to talk, and then leave her to work out what she wants and if she misses you.

Of course it’s going to be hard not to contact her and you’ll be wondering what she’s doing and what she’s thinking, but I’m afraid that’s the price you have to pay for letting her down.

Breaks can actually be a really good thing for a relationship. You have the opportunity to miss each other and the space to think about a future with that person and what you have to do to achieve it.
