£50k a year to help turn Queen green

THE Queen is looking for a £50,000-a-year manager to cut her carbon footprint across the royal estates.

Based at Buckingham Palace, the job involves cutting waste and ensuring sustainabl­e constructi­on – as well as managing an energy-efficiency drive.

An advert for the post says the Royal Household is “working hard across our locations to reduce its impact on the environmen­t, using everything from energy efficient LED lighting to hydro-electricit­y plants to ensure efficient running of its sites”.

The energy and environmen­t manager role also comes with an energysavi­ng six weeks’ holiday.
