Drunk passenger hit hubby & searched plane for booze
A DRUNK passenger ransacked a plane for booze then attacked her husband after being refused wine, a court heard.
Sharon Simmonite had downed most of a bottle of sangria in the airport toilets, her husband Martin said.
She then fell and was treated by medics who gave the “upset” and “angry” 46-year-old a tranquilliser. On board she was calm until the crew started serving, when she “suddenly became alert” and asked for wine, prosecutor Alan Currums said. When refused she searched the galley then hit Martin, 49, before he and their son were moved away from her. Simmonite, of Middlewich, Cheshire, admitted being drunk and assaulting her husband on the easyJet flight from Majorca to Liverpool in April. Magistrates gave her a suspended eight-week jail term and a rehab order.
