Kieran scores town honour
WORLD Cup goal scorer Kieran Trippier is being granted the freedom of his hometown following calls from his dad Chris.
The 27-year-old was hailed by Bury town hall chiefs for his Colombia penalty and free kick in the semis against Croatia.
Rishi Shori, leader of the council in Greater Manchester, said: “He is only the third Englishman to have scored in a World Cup semi-final and certainly the first from Bury.”
