17yrs’ jail for rape teacher

A TEACHER at a private school has been jailed for 17 years for raping a pupil.

James Husband’s victim said the abuse has left her with a “life sentence” of suicidal thoughts.

Husband, 68, was convicted of one count of rape and five of indecently assaulting a girl as young as 14 between 1990 and 1993 while he taught at Christ’s Hospital school in Horsham, West Sussex.

Husband, of Wigginton, North Yorks, was jailed at Hove crown court.
