JAMIE MURRAY took the blame after failing to land a third mixed doubles title.

Defending champion Murray (left) won last year with Martina Hingis, a decade after lifting the trophy alongside Jelena Jankovic.

But Alexander Peya and Nicole Melichar beat Murray and Victoria Azarenka 7-6 6-3 on Centre Court and the 32-year-old Brit said: “I lost my serve at the start of the second set, which obviously didn’t help.

“I didn’t return very well, and that didn’t give Vika chances to put pressure on them.

“And I didn’t serve very well. I am disappointed with my performance.”
