But Prince Charles did not call an emergency gardening team – he saw it as a challenge. He has spent nearly 40 years personally transforming them into some of the most creative and innovative gardens in the UK.

Presenter Adam Frost explains: “I was invited to a meeting at Highgrove with members from across the horticultural industry to discuss the problem of pests and diseases. The Prince wanted to explain why we as gardeners need to do our bit.”
