Mandarin’s £20k bonus

THERESA May handed her top Brexit official a bonus of almost £20,000 for “good performance” despite months of talks deadlock.

This reward – signed off by the PM to boost his £160,000 salary – related to Olly Robbins’ first nine months at the Department for Exiting the EU.

Other Dexeu mandarins got up to £15,000 top-ups, it was revealed last night.

Downing Street said: “Bonuses are based on performance levels.”
