of Virgin Media TV customers face no longer being able to get UKTV’s channels from this Sunday.

UKTV, jointly owned by the BBC and US giant Discovery, is set to pull its 10 channels, including Dave and Gold, after the two sides failed to reach an agreement on a deal.

Darren Childs, chief executive of UKTV, said: “The huge cut in fees that Virgin has requested doesn’t reflect the value we bring to customers.”

Virgin Media said it centred on getting video on demand rights for BBC shows.

David Bouchier, its chief digital entertainm­ent officer, said: “Virgin Media has had a long relationsh­ip with UKTV, but viewing behaviours amongst our customers are changing.”
