Bernard needs to make quick Brexit
Leading Brexiteer Bernard Jenkin says a hard Brexit would have the same positive effect on us that recapturing the Falklands did. Really? We’re not at war with the EU, our sovereignty wasn’t stolen as we agreed to pool it, and our military capacity has shrunk so much since 1982 we couldn’t defend the Falklands today if we wanted.
But I’ll concede one similarity. If his form of no-deal Brexit succeeds, like the Falklands, we’ll be viewed as a sad, little island floating off the coast of a big continent full of nothing of note but bird crap.
