SPIETH: SWING IT ON

DEFENDING champion Jordan Spieth is in contention but says his game is not as good as last year. Spieth (left) the world No.6, shot a 67 to get to a three-under total. He hit just 47 per cent of fairways, but only had one bogey as he scrambled well.

He said: “My swing is nowhere near where it was last year. But the short game is on point and the swing is working in the right direction to get that confidence back.”
