Poorly Tom ‘determined to be back on stage soon’
Vow by star, 78, over axed concerts
SIR Tom Jones told fans from his hospital bed he hopes to be back “performing very soon”.
The singer, 78, has cancelled gigs for the next few weeks as doctors treat him for a bacterial infection.
He had been due on stage tonight at Emsland Arena in Germany and tomorrow at Belvoir Castle in Leicestershire. He had also cancelled a show at Chester on Thursday.
A statement on his Twitter page said: “His condition is being well managed and appropriate recovery time and rest is advised.
“Sir Tom is in good spirits and wants to extend both his heartfelt
appreciation and sincere apologies to all who planned to attend. He is determined to be back performing very soon.” Tickets will be valid for new dates. Fans who cannot make them will get refunds.
