12 injured by knifeman in bus rampage

A KNIFEMAN wounded at least 12 people on a bus yesterday, leaving three of them seriously injured.

He reportedly left a smouldering rucksack, though it did not explode.

The driver braked and opened the doors to allow passengers to flee before he too was stabbed.

A witness told how one man was knifed in the chest just after offering his seat to an elderly woman, adding: “It was carnage.”

A 34-year-old Iranian man was held following the attack in the northern Germany city of Lubeck.

Officials said he did not shout anything during the attack, but they did not rule out terrorism.
