‘My 4 weeks of disbelief at £100k win’

- BY RACHEL McDERMOTT

A MAN waited a month to cash in his winning scratchcard after refusing to believe he had scooped £100,000 – and even fearing it was a scam.

Russell Armand, 34, took a punt on the £1 card while buying a can of pop.

Despite confirming the win at the shop, he could not believe his luck.

He did not even tell his wife and kept the ticket in his pocket until things sank in four weeks later.

The dad-of-three said: “If you ask why I didn’t call Camelot immediately or tell my wife, I couldn’t tell you! I guess I thought that it must be a scam.”

Russell and wife Elena, 34, of Chelmsford, Essex, are now planning a holiday.

He added: “Since Elena was little, she has wanted to go to French Polynesia.”
