Course of true love for Justin
EXACTLY 20 years after he introduced himself to the golfing world in spectacular fashion, Justin Rose has fallen in love with the Open again.
Rose (left) finished in a tie for fourth at Birkdale in 1998 as a 17-year-old amateur and, two decades on, his closing 69 at Carnoustie saw him finish in a tie for second. And the Englishman, who had to birdie the last on Friday to make the cut, said: “I hadn’t felt the energy of the crowd for a while in The Open. That was a real positive for me here and it renewed the love of The Open for me. This just proves to me that I can win it.”
