Many finding benefit too hard to get
LARGE numbers of people struggle to claim benefit through Universal Credit.
A study showed more than a third of those Citizens Advice helped found it hard to provide evidence on a range of issues.
Gillian Guy, of CA, said: “A significant minority struggle to navigate Universal Credit.”
Margaret Greenwood, Labour’s Shadow Work and Pensions Secretary, said: “The Government must pause the roll out and fix the problems.”
However, the Department for Work and Pensions said: “Universal Credit simplifies a complex system.”
