Ben’s mum: I’ve been in torment for 27 years

-

THE mother of missing toddler Ben Needham says: “The pain never stops.”

Kerry Needham is still desperate for answers, with today being the 27th anniversary of the toddler vanishing.

Now 46, Kerry has been back to the island numerous times to try to discover the truth behind Ben’s disappearance. And she revealed: “We have been in torment for 27 years. Yes, life goes on, but it is not the life it should have been. We miss you, Ben.”

The boy, from Sheffield, was 21 months old when he was lost on the Greek island of Kos.

Police visited the island a year ago and blood was found on part of a sandal and on soil in a toy car in a search of a farmhouse being renovated by his grandad at the time. A second site, 820 yards away, was also searched after it emerged the toddler may have been crushed by a digger.

South Yorkshire Police said: “Forensic work remains ongoing in relation to items brought back from Kos. This work is extremely detailed.”

Det Insp Jon Cousins said his “belief” is that Ben died in an accident at the farmhouse.
