If Mrs May had lost last week’s crucial Brexit vote, it could have led to a General Election with Jeremy Corbyn being handed the chance of becoming PM . Wouldn’t that have been fantastic?

This country has gone through so much under the Tories – austerity, the Universal Credit fiasco, Brexit and thousands of children pushed into poverty, just to highlight a few. Having a Labour Government and Jeremy as PM would be very refreshing. Mick Rutland Stockton-on-Tees

Monday’s article on Eric Morecambe’s East Fife vs Forfar football scoreline joke brought back comical memories.

But I remember a “fuller” version with the scoreline actually reversed, though I’m not sure if it was Eric or someone else who uttered it.

It went: “The latest result East Fife 5, Forfar – so far – 4!”
