Father is arrested over acid attack on his 3-year-old son
THE father of the three-year-old boy doused in acid on a shopping trip is one of five men being held over the attack.
The 39-year-old man was arrested in Wolverhampton on suspicion of conspiracy to commit GBH.
The boy was with his mum in Home Bargains in Worcester on Saturday when the attack happened.
The boy and his mum are understood to have been living in a safe house after her relationship broke down. A police source reportedly said: “The attack was targeted at her. The child just happened to get in the way.” Det Insp Jim Bayliss said: “We believe it to be an isolated incident.”
Police are ruling out a link to an attack on a woman, 47, in Birmingham yesterday.
She suffered facial injuries after acid was thrown at her by a moped rider.
