Flaming shameful
Regarding Burberry’s burning of £28million of designer clothes so the “wrong people” don’t wear them (Mirror, July 20), I assume they are referring to people not “upmarket” enough.
Burberry have either overproduced their overpriced goods, or they have vastly overestimated the number of customers they have.
Either way their disgraceful solution for unsold merchandise leaves me with nothing less than utter contempt.
If I were ever able to afford their outrageously priced goods, they’d be last on my shopping list.

Fiona Phillips says she didn’t cancel an airline seat because it was non-refundable (Mirror, July 21). You are entitled to the tax paid on the ticket, even if the fare itself is non-refundable. Travel agents and airlines will not always inform you, as this is extra revenue for them. The amount can be quite significant to destinations such as the USA.
