Bluebirds won’t flap says Ward

- BY ALEX BYWATER

DANNY WARD insists Cardiff City can survive in the Premier League.

And the Bluebirds striker cannot wait for a chance in the top flight, nine years after he made his debut in the division with Bolton aged just 17.

Neil Warnock’s side are odds on to drop straight back down to the Championship, but Ward believes his team can prove the critics wrong.

“I’d have said the squad was good enough at the end of last season for the Premier League and now we have added to it with some good signings,” said Ward.

“We had a taste of what we can expect this year when we faced Manchester City in the FA Cup last season, so we know just how hard it is going to be and what to expect.

“But we will dig each other out when we get into trouble and I believe we have the quality to stay up.”
