Pep admits that he may become ‘tired’ of being boss of champions City

PEP GUARDIOLA admits he could eventually become “tired” at Manchester City.

Guardiola signed a new three-year deal in the summer, which would keep him at the Etihad longer than he has managed any other club.

But the Catalan walked away from his beloved Barcelona in 2012 because he grew tired, and says he would speak to the City board if he was worried about losing his mojo again.

“Football trainers, always we are in a dangerous position,” said the 47-yearold Blues boss.

“But the family is happy living in Manchester, my experiences of the Premier League are good. I have a

RIYAD MAHREZ has revealed he rejected interest from other clubs when Manchester City renewed their interest in him this summer.

City’s move for the Algeria winger broke down in January when his former club Leicester City refused to budge over their £95million valuation.

But Pep Guardiola maintained an interest in the 27-year-old and City secured a £60m clubrecord deal earlier this month, their only signing of the summer so far.

“It’s good to have interest from clubs and my choice was to come to Manchester City,” Mahrez told ESPN FC.

“City are a big club with very big players and a big manager. Everything is here to improve yourself and to win trophies.”

Mahrez is one of the few City players back in training, with 16 of Guardiola’s first-team squad given extra time off after World Cup duty in Russia.

The 2016 PFA Player Of The Year faces a fight for a starting place when the full squad is reunited, particularly after City’s title cakewalk.

But Mahrez does not seem to be cowed in the slightest by the challenge at the Etihad.

“I don’t know (what Pep thinks I can add), but if he bought me maybe he thinks I can add something. I’m part of the team, I’m part of the squad. I’m here to help with my quality.

“Competition improves the players, improves the squad, improves the team. It can only be a good thing.”

Mahrez made his debut in the International Champions Cup defeat by Borussia Dortmund in Chicago on Friday and could make his first senior start in the Community Shield against Chelsea on August 5.
