Party votes for Hoey exit over Brexit
PRO-BREXIT Labour MP Kate Hoey could be deselected after a thumping no-confidence vote.
Members of Vauxhall Labour Party backed a motion saying she had ignored constituents’ views, collaborated with hard Brexit Tories and colluded with Nigel Farage.
Forty-two backed the motion, three abstained. None voted against.
One speaker is said to have declared: “In the name of God, go.”
Ms Hoey, 72, has held the South London seat for 29 years. Her area, Lambeth, voted 79% for Remain.
