British kids aged 4, 5 and 6 die in water tragedies
THREE British children died here and abroad at the weekend while playing in water.
A boy of five drowned in the Algarve on Saturday, four hours before a girl of four drowned in a swimming pool in Marbella.
And a six-year-old girl from Erith, Kent, died in hospital after getting into difficulty in the sea on the same day in Margate Harbour. She was said to have been found face-down on a sandbank as the tide went out in choppy conditions.
The four-year-old was on holiday with her parents just off Marbella’s Golden Mile. She was already out of the water when emergency responders arrived and tried to revive her using CPR. A local report said the tragedy happened at a pool belonging to a private villa.
The five-year-old boy was with his parents near the resort of Silves in the Algarve. He was pronounced dead after being pulled out off the water at a villa in the Amendoeira resort. EMERGENCY Margate
