Harry bid to target root of teen knifings
PRINCE Harry is to target the cause of “skyrocketing” levels of deadly knife crime.
The Duke of Sussex is spearheading a Royal Foundation project where young people will give their views on the root causes.
Earlier this year Harry said: “At the end of last year, knife crime skyrocketed. But [it] is a symptom of a cause. So therefore, go and speak to the young people.”
Knife crime rose 16% to 40,147 in the past year, the highest since comparable records began in 2011.
Harry and Meghan plus Prince William and Kate are the Foundation’s patrons.
The Government is to double to £22million funds to tackle teenage violence after a surge in killings and knifings put crime rates at the highest in a decade.
