BREASTFEEDING UNCOVERED C4, 8pm

Britain suffers some of the worst breast feeding rates in the world and new mum Kate Quilton wants to find out why.

The Food Unwrapped presenter had a baby boy in May and, after struggling with breast feeding herself, wants to learn why the UK lags behind – and why it matters so much.

Never judgmental in tone, the programme isn’t directed at women who choose not to breast feed, nor about guilt tripping those mums who desperately want to but can’t.

Kate enlists specialists to show all the vital elements which are naturally occurring in breast milk but not found in formula, and also looks at the effects cuts to support services have had on new mums – and the shame some can feel when feeding in public.

Kate also stages a flash mob at Parliament, as rooms within the Palace of Westminster are one of the last places where breast feeding is banned.
