Digne had hero role

EVERTON’S prospective new signing Lucas Digne was a hero in last year’s Barcelona terror attack.

Digne is set to complete his £22million move to Everton from the Spanish giants this week and the French defender recently spoke about how he helped the victims of the atrocity.

Digne was at home in the Placa Catalunya looking on to La Rambla when a van hit crowds of people, killing 14 and injuring many more.

Initially, the left-back thought there had been a traffic accident and rushed to help, carrying towels and bottles of water.

He then gave first aid and used towels to make tourniquets.
