‘Worst ever’ hols jet flyer is locked up
A MIDDLE-aged mum was jailed yesterday over a drunken rampage on a jet.
Helen Butcher was rude to other tourists, swore and punched one steward in the genitals saying: “It doesn’t matter, you’re gay.”
Shay Kelly, one of the cabin crew, said she “was the worst passenger I have ever dealt with”.
Butcher, 51, bound for the Greek island of Kos with her daughter in June last year, swore so loudly that children on the Thompson aircraft covered their ears. She was arrested in Kos. At Manchester crown court, she admitted assault, being intoxicated on an aircraft and using threatening behaviour.
Butcher, of Ulverston, Cumbria, was jailed for 21 weeks.
