FOR Sunderland to have sold 22,000 season tickets in League One is magnificent.

The absolutely disgusting mess Ellis Short got the club into would have been enough to wear away at any fan and make them think, “I’m not coming again”.

The fact that so many supporters have gone, “You know what, the new owners have promised never to let what has happened occur again, we’ll give something back by making sure the Stadium of Light is at least half-full”, makes me want to take my hat off to them.
