Marriage plot parents jailed

A COUPLE who tried to force their 18-year-old daughter to marry her cousin on a sham family holiday have been jailed.

The British Asian woman was lured to Bangladesh, where her dad threatened to “chop her up” if she didn’t agree.

She managed to contact her boyfriend back in the UK, sparking a rescue by armed police and the British High Commission.

At Leeds crown court, her father got four-and-ahalf years and his wife three-and-a-half years.
