KYLE TRIAL TOUGH FOR MURRAY
ANDY MURRAY admitted he will have to raise his game to gain revenge on Kyle Edmund at the Citi Open in Washington.
The former world No.1 won his first match on hardcourts since March 2017 by beating American Mackenzie McDonald 3-6 6-4 7-5.
He now faces No.4 seed Edmund in a re-match of their Eastbourne clash in June won by the new British No.1.
Murray, who roared in triumph after his second win of the year, said: “I’ll have to play much better if I want to win that match, more aggressively. It will help having one more match under my belt.
“I enjoyed getting through that one. You could see it in the celebration.
“That was a tough match which could have gone either way.”
The Scot, who was playing only his fourth match since January hip surgery, also plans to play at Masters events in Toronto and Cincinnati before the last Grand Slam starts in New York on August 27.
