GARETH SOUTHGATE’S example can inspire England to more World Cup success – this time in rugby.

That is the hope of RFU boss Steve Brown, who admits he loved everything about Southgate (right) and his Russia campaign.

“I was impressed by the whole situation,” said the Twickenham chief executive. “Southgate did a brilliant job and England were fantastic, representing our nation brilliantly. “What impressed me most was the attitude and culture of the squad. “There was a humility and modesty about them. They were good role models. “I would like us to inspire the nation as much as the football guys did as we head into the 2019 World Cup.”
