BAM: NO BORO REGRETS
PATRICK BAMFORD sealed his £10million switch to Leeds – and insisted he had no axe to grind after losing his Middlesbrough place.
Bamford, who had fallen down the pecking order at Boro, is new boss Marcelo Bielsa’s fifth signing at Elland Road on a four-year deal.
The striker said: ”I can’t wait to get started. There were ups and downs at Boro, but I enjoyed every minute of it. A special mention must go to the fans, who always gave me their full support.”
Leeds have paid an initial £7million for Bamford, with a further £3m in add-ons.
The ex-England Under-21 will be plunged into a debut in Sunday’s season opener at home to relegated Stoke.
