PSG WILL FIGHT FOR KANTE
Determined French giants set to test influential midfielder by gazumping Chelsea’s record £290k-a-week new deal offer
MEGA-RICH Paris Saint-Germain are refusing to give up on N’Golo Kante despite his offer of a bumper new deal from Chelsea.
The France World Cup winner has established himself as one of the best midfielders on the planet over the last five years. He can become the top earner at Stamford Bridge if he signs a five-year deal worth £290,000 a week.
But PSG have the finance to trump that and test the Blues’ determination
to hold on to their star man. Kante, 27, has been their No.1 summer target since the recruitment of new boss Thomas Tuchel.
This week Tuchel refused to be drawn on the speculation regarding Kante, saying: “It is not fair. I do not like it if other coaches talk about situations of players who are playing for other clubs. So there’s no comment on Kante.” Valencia have set their sights on Chelsea striker Michy Batshuayi (left). The 24-year-old Belgium star wants regular first-team starts after impressing on loan at Borussia Dortmund last season. Valencia can offer him Champions League football.
