Stop NHS assaults
Thanks for your report on the rising number of attacks on NHS staff and how hospitals have to hire security guards (Mirror, July 28).
It also highlighted how the Government has scrapped NHS Protect which collected data on assaults.
The Department of Health says perpetrators will face the full force of the law, yet it should be doing more to stop the violence. But no chance of that under this Tory Government. Stuart Slinn Chesterfield, Derbys
Regarding Eric Thorpe’s letter (July 26) on Black Wednesday in 1992, it was David Cameron who advised Chancellor Norman Lamont to waste £16billion propping up the pound and to leave the European Exchange Rate Mechanism. What a terrible PM he became. Steve Goulding Sheffield
