MOUR LIKELY MINA’S GOING TO BE A RED
YERRY MINA has shot to the top of Jose Mourinho’s wanted list as Manchester United’s interest in Harry Maguire has cooled.
Maguire has been the subject of a tug-of-war between United and Leicester, who have stepped up talks with the central defender in a double-your-money bid to convince him to stay. United are now prioritising Barcelona defender Mina (below), who will cost less than half the £65million they were prepared to pay for England World Cup hero Maguire.
The 23-year-old Colombian impressed in Russia last month, scoring against England in the round of 16, and could be sold for £30m. He played just four league games for Barca after joining them six months ago.
United retain an interest in long-term target Toby Alderweireld of Tottenham as well, but Spurs are proving tough negotiators.
Leicester are adamant Maguire, 25, is not for sale despite Reds’ boss Mourinho’s desire, and the Foxes hope to tie down the star on a new four-year £100,000-a-week deal. BRIGHTON HAVE TOLD HULL THEY WANT £1.5M FOR MIDFIELDER OLIVER NORWOOD AFTER REJECTING TWO PREVIOUS BIDS
